Thriller es el sexto álbum del cantante Michael Jackson como solista, tras su larga etapa como líder de la banda familiar, conocida como The Jackson Five .Thriller de 1982 fue un álbum que sumó elementos de interés para públicos de gustos dispares, en una sagaz combinación destinada a un mercado masivo y universal. Se basó en el precedente del álbum Off the Wall, pero añadió funk más duro (Billie Jean o Thriller), hard rock (Beat It), baladas más suaves y soul más fluído (Baby Be Mine), y así amplió el enfoque de tener algo para cada público.En este mismo sentido para todos los gustos, se incluye la balada The Girl Is Mine que Jackson canta a dúo con el ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, misma que fue el primer sencillo lanzado de este exitoso álbum.
